Hi,
I downloaded Windows Vista and burned the image on to a DVD. While I try to install it the laptop shutsdown automatically. I am using Windows XP Pro. My laptop has a sticker stating Windows Vista Capable on it. I am trying to upgrade to Windows Vista and after gathering files and expanding the files the computer tries to restart. In the boot option I get 2 options one is Normal Windows (old) and the other is Windows Setup. By default it is Windows Setup and if I select Windows Setup, it shuts down the PC. I checked the boot sequence and its CD/DVD drive as the first sequence and I can see the CD/DVD drive light flickering when Windows Setup option is selected. If I select the normal windows option the PC starts normally and I get a message that Vista was not installed properly and the computer has been brought back to normal setup. When I start my PC again, I still see the 2 menu options. I am not sure whether I did anything wrong or not. Any help in this regard will be kindly appreciated.
Cheers, -- pkmleo
